The collector-cum-returning officer of Khordha district in Odisha, Shalini Pandit, on Saturday issued arrest warrants against 42 officials for failing to attend the training programme on election management for the second phase of polling on April 17.
“These officers were supposed to attend the training programme for presiding officers at Jawahar Navoday Vidyalay at Gurjang on March 31 and April 1.
However, as nay as “42 officials did not turn up,” said an official release.
This apart, arrest warrants were also issued against 26 others who were supposed to work as first polling officers, but were found missing during the training programme, the release said.
Five persons were arrested at Jatni for violating the model code of conduct, the release added.
