Andhra police have been successful in busting a racket which has duped several unemployed youths from Andhra Pradesh of around Rs 10 crore in the name of providing them with jobs at the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL’s) refinery in Odisha’s Paradip.
Based on a complaint of these youths a special team of the Andhra Pradesh police with the help of local police Thursday arrested two persons-Mukesh Samal and Sarada Prasanna Barik from Badapadia and Rangiagada localities of Paradip.
However, there is a twist to the story, prime accused Mukesh Samal is a worker of the ruling BJD.
In several photographs doing rounds in the media, Samal is seen with BJD heavyweight and Cabinet Minister Damodar Rout at different meetings and rallies. Samal has been at different meetings and rallies of the BJD.
Further, Samal has been also seen with senior Daitapati Ramakrushna Dasmohapatra during the Banajaga Yatra in a photograph.
It is believed that Samal had used these photographs to trick youngsters of his influence with the powers that be and part with their money.
Despite best of our efforts Rout could not be contacted for his reactions with regard to Samal’s arrest and his links with him.
