Bhubaneswar, April 6:
The Aama Odisha Patry (AOP) today released its manifesto for the coming elections promising all round development of Odisha and to fight for the honour of mother, motherland and mother tongue.
“Women, motherland and mother tongue are not safe in Odisha. While atrocities against women are increasing with each passing day, the person at the helm of government affairs has no respect for the Odia language and the state. So, it will be our principal aim to keep the honour of the state and its people,” said AOP president Soumya Ranjan Patnaik releasing the party manifesto here today.
Patnaik said the party is committed to utilising the abundant natural resources and the long coastline that the state is blessed with for the proper, all-round development of the state.
Accusing the state government of setting up liquor shops everywhere to increase its revenue, the party has promised to rid the state of the menace of liquor so as to create a healthy society.
Describing the loot of land, forest and mines as ‘gang rape’, the party manifesto promises to return the money looted by chit fund companies to the depositors and strive for eradication of poverty in the state.
Giving importance to the agricultural sector, Patnaik said while 70 per cent of people are depending on agriculture for their livelihood, the government has neglected them and added that the party will work for the benefit of the farmers in the state.
The party has decided to give importance to the education sector so that the youth can compete in the global market.
Stating that some vested interest political parties and politicians are spreading castecism in order to keep their votes bank intact, the party has promised to be a deterrent to such activities and spread social harmony across the country.
