With instances of the escapades of the self-styled and controversial godman Sarathi Baba pouring in after his arrest by the Odisha Crime Branch police, the name and identity of the two women, said to be the closest aides of the Baba has come to the fore.
While one of the women, Barsa (pseudonym), a deserted woman of Marshaghai area staying in the lodge inside the Shrimad Sarathi Ashram, went absconded the day after the arrest of the Baba, another woman, Jani (pseudonym), a relative of one of the prominent devotees of the Baba, has gone underground since two days.
Sources said these two women used to attract several young women to visit the Sarathi ashram by narrating them the divine powers of the Baba.
After the arrest of the Sarathi Baba, the Crime Branch sleuths had raided the ashram lodge and seized some articles including sarees from room no-208. During investigation, the officers came to know that Barsa was staying in that room.

The woman used to take cooked food prepared in her house which was relished by the Baba, sources in the locality said.
Efforts are on to nab the two absconding women, sources in the Crime Branch said.
