Another poll official killed in road mishap

In yet another tragic incident, a polling official was killed in a road mishap Soro in Odisha’s Baleswar district today on the eve of the last phase of polls in the state.

56-year-old Maheswar Bhanja, presiding officer at the Hemaprava Girl’s High School at Soro was killed after he was run over by a truck belonging to a polling party, police sources said.

Earlier in the day in another incident a polling officer Pitambar Rout, in Sapalanga village in Kendrapara district was killed when he slipped from a truck carrying polling personnel.
