Bhubaneswar, Nov 3:
The onset of winter in Odisha and south-east region of the country would be delayed by at least a week following a low pressure which is all set to form off the south coast of Thailand today.
“Under the influence of the low pressure, sea wind would blow towards the land and obstruct the northerly wind from the Himalayan range as a result of which the onset of winter will be delayed in these regions by at least a week,” said Dr Surendranath Pashupalak, agro meteorologist of Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar.
He said that there would be normal winter in these regions after weakening of the low pressure by November 8.
