Bhubaneswar, Nov 12:
The 12th edition of Anjali, the National Children’s Festival, began at the Advasi Ground here on Monday.
About 650 children from Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha are participating in the four-day festival.
On the inaugural day, the participants including some differently abled children, took out a procession from St Joseph High School near Ram Mandir donning colourful costumes, crowns and masks.
The aim of the festival is to empower disabled children and help them be a part of mainstream society, said Sruti Mohapatra, chief coordinator of the city-based NGO Swabhiman.
