Bhubaneswar, Sept 1 :
Angul collector Aravind Agarwal has been transferred and appointed as the Director Technical Education & Training ( DTET). In his place senior OAS officer Ranjit Mohanty who was holding the post of DTET has been posted as the new collector of Angul.
Agarwal has been in the eye of a storm following media reports that he had allowed his office to be used by the local MLA and Steel & Mines minister Rajanikant Singh for political purposes.
The State Election Commissioner had taken exception to the allegations against Agarwal because it appeared to have violated the model code of conduct which has been in force following the announcement of the ULB polls.
The state government has also made some changes in the IFS cadre. 1983 batch IFS officer S B Samant has been appointed the director of Environment while Rebecca Nayar has been named as the new Regional CCF, Bhubaneswar .
