Amara Muzik acquires the music catalogue of Odisha’s Micro Films

Amara Muzik, the latest audio label startup in Odisha and Bengal, has acquired the music catalogue of Odisha’s Micro Films and Entertainment catalogue.

Even though Amara Muzik did not reveal the financial details of the deal, they claimed it to be the biggest ever acquisition in Ollywood industry.

The acquisition contains a catalogue of 160 songs from 14 movies and 9 albums. The agreement recently inked between the two parties, latched on Audio-Video song rights for unlimited tenure.

Music rights of movies- Sapatha, Thookol, Mu Premi Mu Pagal, Balunga Toka, Kichi Khata Kichi Mitha, Gud Boy, Matric fall, Idiot, Rangeela Toka, Jaggu Autowallah, Loafer, Ashok Samrat, Khie Jane Bhala Lage re, Salam Cinema & Albums- Khare Kalia, Nima Daru, Hey Baba Saburi Malik Tume, Talophotaka, I’m Mad for U, Daibee Krupa, Pancha Murta, Chandan Chhitra, Jay Jay Sai Ram were acquired by the Chennai based music company.

Micro Films and Entertainment CEO Kali Prasad Mishra said, “This deal will definitely give a competitive edge over others. Quality content is always aligned to better time spent on digital space, we are sure our content will be of great value-add for Amara Muzik”.

With this acquisition Amara Muzik has gained a substantial market share in the Ollywood industry. Its latest acquisition was Agastya from Akshay Parija Productions and there are another three big budgeted films in the pipeline. The company aims to have a strong foothold in Ollywood industry with about 35-40% of new film music market, said the company in a press release.
