Seven persons including five women were critically injured today after the SUV in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction in Cuttack district of Odisha.


According to reports, the occupants including five women of Jemadei village under Gurudijhatia police limits in the district were on their way to Athagarh for filing nomination paper of the Zilla Parishad member aspirant they were supporting.

Unfortunately, the ill-fated vehicle hit a truck near Khuntuni police station critically injuring the occupants.

The truck fled from the spot after the accident.

They have been admitted to Athagarh sub-divisional hospital.
