The Odisha High Court on Thursday directed the Cuttack DCP to register complaints and take appropriate action against the accused in the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) relief loot case during Cyclone Phailin in October last year.

The directive of the court came in response to a writ filed by the leaders of the Cuttack unit of Congress alleging that the police stations in the city had refused to register their complaints.

The Congress leaders had alleged that some BJD corporators and workers had forcibly taken away relief materials from the CMC office on October 13, the day after Phailin hit the state.
