Puri, Sep 11:
On the eve of the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in New York, internationally acclaimed sand artist from Odisha Sudarsan Pattnaik has paid tributes to the nearly 3, 000 people who perished in the attack through his customary medium of sand art on the Puri beach.
Pattnaik created a replica of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre that was razed to the ground in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
The innovatively designed sculpture titled ‘No Terror, But Peace’ depicts the numerical ‘9’ with the digits ‘11’ superimposed on it in the shape of the now non-existent Twin Towers. The five feet high replica took about seven hours to complete, Pattnaik said.
“I have tried to convey the message that no matter how hard terrorists try, life will not come to an end in the world,” Pattnaik said about his sculpture.
