Bhubaneswar, Feb 6:
Launching a state-wide ‘Jhaadu Chalao’ campaign on Thursday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Odisha on Thursday said the campaign was aimed at sensitising the people on the need for a political alternative for the state.
Talking to media persons here, State Coordinator of AAP Nishikant Mohapatra informed that party members and supporters will make people aware about the involvement of the Naveen Patnaik government in different scams in the state like the multi-crore minning scam in the state and chit-fund scams.
This apart, the party members will highlight the state government’s failure in checking agricultural crisis, farmer suicide, violence against women and deterioration of law and order in the state, Mohapatra said.
Appealing to the people of Odisha to join AAP in large numbers to bring about transparent politics in the state, Mohapatra said, “We will provide an alternative to check corruption in the state. But it will be possible only when large numbers of people will support the party and become members of the party.”
Mohapatra informed that more than two lakh people have already joined AAP as members and the number would increase further in the coming days.
The ‘Jhaadu Chalao’ yatra will conclude on February 13 this year at the Lower PMG here in which AAP national leader Yogendra Yadav would address party workers, the AAP coordinator said.
