The examinations, held at 334 centres, passed off peacefully.
Students from class-I to 5 participated in the drawing competition while a handwriting competition was held among the students of class-6 and 7. Besides, the students of class-8 to 10 participated in the language essay competition.
The examination began at 10 AM.
The topics of the drawing competition were ‘railway’, ‘flower garden’ and ‘cow and calf’.
The time allotted for drawing competition was one hour, while for handwriting and language essay competitions, the students were given 30 minutes and one hour respectively.
The papers were evaluated soon after the examinations and the winners were awarded at their respective centres.
The papers of the students, who secured first, second and third position, would be re-evaluated in the final round and their names would be declared in the state level results, the organisers said.
Students, who have qualified in the first round examination, need not participate in the final round, they added.
Editor of Sambad and chairman of Ama Odisha, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik has congratulated the students, guardians and teachers and staff of all examination centres for the successful conduct of the examination.
The zone-level debate and Saregama competitions for the college and university students are scheduled on September 21 at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Angul, Baleswar, Sambalpur, Brahmapur, Rourkela and Jaipur centres.
The winners of the zone-level competition would later participate in the state level competition.
Registration of the participants for the zone level competition is underway.
