85% Odisha govt employees have registered for GPF e-statement

At least 1.38 lakh of the 1.63 Odisha government employees have been registered on the website of Accountant General (A&E) to avail the e-statement services of general provident fund (GPF).

This office had launched the GPF e-statement and push SMS service forall subscribers of State Government Odisha

“By the end of last fiscal, 85% of the employees have been registered on www.agodisha.gov.in. The office of the Accountatnt Genreal has uploaded the GPF statements for 2014-15 by June 23, which can be downloaded from the website by the registered users. The remaining employees are from Group D category and they would be included soon,” said Reema Prakash, AG (A&E).

During the financial year 2014-15, the Directorate of Treasuries and Inspection (DTI), in association with the Finance Department, had launched a special drive for online registration of GPF subscribers for e-statement and SMS facility.

Notably, the process has been completed six months ahead of the schedule.

Besides, the subscribers are being informed about the closing balance in their GPF accounts and interest earned through SMSes.

In case of any discrepancy in their statement, the subscribers have been asked to apply for corrections through District Development Officer (DDO), an official said.

With this facility, registered employees can now not only access their e-statement of annual GPF online, but also can download and print the same. Besides, an SMS alert is sent to their registered mobile phone instantly in case of any transaction in their account– either credit or debit transaction.
