The Ama Odisha Party (AOP) on Saturday received a shot in the arm when over 80 members of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of Laxmiprasad village of Dhanachangada panchayat under Bhapur block in Nayagarh district joined the party.

The BJD workers, led by the Laxmiprasad village president Bhagirathi Pradhan, formally joined AOP after meeting the party chairman Soumya Ranjan Patnaik at his residence at Nayapalli here in the morning.

“The ideals of Soumya Ranjan Patnaik inspired us to join AOP,” the BJD workers said.
