After the withdrawal of nominations, 747 candidates are in the fray for the 77 Assembly constituencies while 98 candidates will contest for the 11 Lok Sabha seats for the second phase of the polls in Odisha on April 17 , sources in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said here today.
The last day for withdrawal of nominations by the candidates for the second phase polls had ended on Saturday.
The total number of candidates for the 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly seats in Odisha now stands at 199 and 1415 respectively.
The Election Commission today released the final list of 825 candidates for the second phase polls for the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly.
Of the 105 nomination papers for the 11 Lok Sabha constituencies, 101 were found valid. Four candidates have withdrawn from the race.
A total of 832 candidates had filed nomination papers for 77 Assembly seats. While the papers of 784 candidates were found valid, 37 of them withdrew their candidature.
