Sundargarh/Baripada, Mar 6:
At least five persons died and two others sustained critical injuries in two separate road accidents in Odisha today.
A car and a moped collided head-on near Amarda Road in Odisha’s Baripada district killing three persons and injuring two.
The deceased, all hailing from Rasgovindpur, were returning home after watching jatra when the mishap took place.
Locals staged road blockade at Nakachuan demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
In another incident, two persons died after a speeding truck hit a stationary truck near Barpali village under Hemagiri police limits in Sundargarh district.
The truck which caused the accident ran over a pedestrian killing the person on the spot. Besides, the driver of the truck also died.
