Four persons were killed, while 30 others were injured including eight critically, after a mini-lorry carrying a wedding party turned turtle, on Tuesday late night, near Sarasmala under Dunguripali block in Subarnapur district, Odisha.
Two persons were killed on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, while 30 others were injured when the mini-lorry carrying the groom side met with an accident.
The deceased have been identified as Baladeb Kumbhar, Pabitra Kumbhar, Jalandhar Rajhansa and Ranjita Kumbhar.
Last night, when the groom’s side was travelling from Satlama village in Bargarh were coming to Naikenpali village in Dunguripali.
The over-loaded lorry had nearly 50 passengers standing chock-a-block, the vehicle lost balance and was overturned, instantly killing two persons and injuring 30.
The injured have been admitted to the Rampur health centre in Bargarh district.
While, the eight seriously injured were shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VSS) in Burla.
A police team after reaching the spot and have seized the vehicle.
