Bhubaneswar: Even after admission was held into engineering courses for the students secured rank in second Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) on Sunday, as many as 31,000 B.Tech seats are still lying vacant in engineering colleges in the state.

Following seat allotment yesterday, only 4,192 seats were filled taking total number of admission at 12,000 seats both in government and private engineering colleges this year.

After first phase of admission, 35,000 seats were vacant in private engineering colleges. The second phase of admission could not fill the vacant seats clearly suggesting lack of interest among students to pursue B.Tech.
