Three CRPF jawans were killed and three others seriously injured in a landmine blast today in Aerobor forested area in Chhatisgarh’s Sukma district bordering Malkangiri in Odisha, reports said.
The jawans were part of a combing operation exercise ahead of Thursday’s Lok Sabha polls.
While a gun fight has ensued between the security personnel and Maoists following the incident, the bodies of the slain jawans have been recovered and have kept at Chintagufa police station in Sukma district and the three injured men have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
The injured security personnel including a deputy commander of COBRA and a CRPF sub-inspector will be airlifted to a better hospital soon, reports said.
