Bhubaneswar, Dec 6:
The Khandagiri police late on Thursday night nabbed 3 members of a motor cycle looter gang here at Raghunath Nagar slum under the same police limits and seized 14 stolen motor cycles.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided Khallikote and Kodala areas in Ganjam district and seized 11 stolen bikes. Later, they arrested two history-sheeters from Raghunath Nagar slum for their complicity in the crime and recovered 3 more bikes from their possession.
The arrested persons, Khali Behera and Ashok Das who stay in the Raghunath Nagar slum, confessed to their crimes.
They said they had stolen the 14 bikes from Bharatpur, Panchasakha Nagar, Dharma Vihar, Khandagiri and Baramunda areas.
Of the total 14 seized two-wheelers, six are Passion Plus, two Bajaj Boxers and one each of Splendour Plus, CBZ, Honda Activa, Pulsar, CD 100, Yamaha motorcycles.
Investigation is on to recover more motor cycles from the accused, said police
A case ( 598/13 ) has been registered against the accused persons under section 379, 411 of IPC and they have been forwarded to local court today.
Earlier, four cases were registered against the same persons at Khandagiri police station.
