Cuttack, Jul 15:
A total of 28.52 percent students in Odisha have cleared this year’s High School Certificate (HSC) Supplementary examination results of which were announced today.
The results were announced by the president of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Prof Dakshya Prasadd Nanda at the Board’s headquarters office here at 10.30 AM.
A total of 18,006 students had filled up the forms for the Supplementary examination and 16,129 students had appeared of which 4563 students have successfully cleared the examination.
The pass percentage of the last year’s HSC Supplementary examination was 24.4 percent.
“We have made necessary arrangements to send all mark sheets and migration certificates of the students to all schools by July 20 to enable them to get admission in the Plus Two streams”, he added.
He said the Board had completed the valuation of the HSC Supplementary answer sheets this year in two days flat on July 3 and 4.
“For the first time, we had introduced a new system in this year’s Supplementary examination as a pilot project in which the examiners at the valuation centres were relieved of manual entry of marks in the mark foil as they were directly fed to the computer and sent to the processing firms for automatic upload. Except some minor glitches, the system proved immensely useful as we were able to announce the results much earlier this year. We are hopeful of rectifying these minor mistakes and make it an error-free system for the annual examination next year,” the BSE president informed.
The Supplementary examination, which began on June 22 at 61 centres in the sub divisional headquarters, concluded on June 29.
