A total of 2422 students successfully cleared the National Rural Talent Search (NRTS) examinations, conducted in the state by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
The results of the exam were announced on Tuesday.
A total of 24,245 students of Class VII had appeared in the examinations at 100 centres on August 24 this year.
Abhilash Das of Saraswati Sishu Mandir at Baunsuni in Boudh district has secured first position with 93 percent of marks in aggregate.
The successful candidates would be eligible for a monthly scholarship of Rs 250 for three years, BSE president Dr Dakshya Prasad Nanda said.
