Ten girls and 12 boys of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have been selected to get the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for the financial year 2013-14, KIIT sources said.
Out of total 64 tribal students selected from Odisha for this prestigious scholarship, as many as 22 are from KISS.
Last year 15 students of the institute had won this scholarship. They are presently doing a course in research methodology at KISS.
University Grant Commission (UGC), had invited applications from students along with the abstracts on the topics they wished to conduct research in the fields of History, Odia, Political Science, Economics, Culture, Plant Biotechnology, Sociology, Education for MPhil/PhD degree.
22 students of KISS have been selected by the UGC for the fellowship which will vary between Rs. 16,000 and Rs. 18,000 per month , besides annual contingency as applicable.
