Cuttack, May 4:
Expressing displeasure over the tardy investigation into the leak of the annual Plus Two Physics and Chemistry question papers in 2013, the Odisha High Court today asked the state government to submit a status report within a week.
A division bench of Justice Pradip Mohanty and Justice Biswajit Mohanty issued the directive while hearing a petition filed by senior advocate Nishikanta Mishra.
It may be mentioned that the state government had ordered a Crime Branch probe into the leak of annual Plus Two Physics and Chemistry papers in a private college in Sambalpur.
The Crime Branch had arrested the deputy director, Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Sambalpur zone and the principal and peon of the private college in connection with the case and forwarded them to the court.
The state government had apprised the High Court of the arrest of the aforesaid accused.
However, taking strong exception to the inordinate delay, the court, in an order on April 29 the same year, had asked the Crime Branch to complete the probe and submit a complete report to the court within three months.
