At least two People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) members were killed and 5 others injured in an exchange of fire with policemen at Pital forest under Bisra police limits in Sundargarh district of Odisha late last night, informed IG of Police (Western Range) RK Sharma.
As many as 11 magazines, one AK-47 rifle, 8 other guns, 190 live bullets, 45 mobile phones, clothes and shoes were seized from the spot, Sharma said.
The policemen, while patrolling in the area ahead of panchayat polls, got information regarding a PLFI camp.
As the cops reached the spot, the PLFI members fired at the former following which police retaliated by firing back.
While two PLFI members died and five were injured, others ran helter-skelter during the firing.
