Bargarh, May 24:
Two persons were killed and another seriously injured when the Howrah-Koraput Samaleswari Express rammed into the car in which they were travelling at an unmanned railway level crossing at Khemesara near Barpalli in Odisha’s Bargarh district at around 11.30 am today.
While one Santanu Bisi died on the spot, another person, Durlabh Pradhan, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla.
The owner-cum-driver of the ill fated Indica car, who has been seriously injured in the accident, is battling for his life at the hospital in Burla.
While the Samaleswari Express was detained for around two hours at the accident site, angry locals pelted stones at the train injuring an RPF inspector on duty, sources said.
