19 Maoist sympathisers surrender in Odisha’s Malkangiri

In yet another jolt to the Maoist organisation in Odisha, 19 more red-rebel sympathisers today surrendered before Malkangiri SDPO.

The surrendered sympathisers are residents of Khatopadar village under Maithili police station and belonged to Darwa division of CPI-M.

“19 Maoist sympathisers surrendered before the police today. Out of them there are five militias, three village committee members and two members of Chetana Natya Mandali. We welcome them all to the mainstream,” said Malkangiri SDPO Madkar Sandeep Sampat briefing newsmen today.

“We will try to rehabilitate the surrendered sympathisers under the surrender and rehabilitation policy of Odisha Government. I also call upon the Maoist supporters from nearby areas to surrender and take the benefits of government’s welfare policies,” he added.

Notably, yesterday, 19 Maoist sympathisers surrendered before Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra, a woman cadre Maoist Muli Munda surrendered before the Bonai Additional SP in Sundargarh district and 56 Maoist supporters surrendered in neighbouring Chhattisgarh out of which 17 belonged to Odisha as we reported here.
