Bhawanipatana: Forest officials have rescued 12 rare Mountain Quails from a bus in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Monday.
According to reports, the rare birds were found in a private bus which was going towards Bhawanipatana from Thuamul Rampur.
The bus was intercepted near Sagada check post by the Forest staff suspecting transportation of the engendered species.
Three employees of the bus were detained and are being questioned about the transportation of the rare birds, reports added.
They trio has been identified as Chintamani Chhatria, Punia Majhi and Pradeep Majhi.
These endangered species have been trapped from Kalrapat Wildlife Sanctuary, sources said.
