Bhubaneswar, Dec 17:

Staff of 108 Ambulance today called off the cease work strike launched by them from Friday midnight after payment of their pending salaries, informed 108 Ambulance Service Workers’ Association secretary Manoj Kumar Sahoo.

Earlier in the day, the ambulance service had come to a grinding halt in Odisha as the employees went on a cease work agitation demanding timely payment of salary.

The ambulance drivers, emergency medical technicians and attendants had joined the stir.

The association had earlier launched a similar agitation in March this year demanding fulfillment of their 12-point charter of demands.

Notably, as many as 420 numbers of 108 Ambulances are currently operating across the state in which more than 3000 employees including drivers and paramedical staff have been appointed.
