A youth was found dead with throat slit in Odisha’s Holy town in the wee hours today. His body was found in a pool of blood in the railway station here.
According to reports, the body of the youth identified as Sanatan Patra hailing from Baunsiapada area in Nayagarh district was found in a pool of blood in front of the ticket booking counter of Puri Railway Station.
Sanatan was attacked by unidentified men near the parcel booking office. He had a scuffle with the anti-socials after which they hacked him to death, sources said.
“Sanatan’s body was lying in a pool of blood in front of the ticket booking counter of Puri Railway Station. Railway police recovered the body and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel were informed. The case would be investigated with the help of a scientific team,” the officer-in-charge of Railway Protection Force (RPF) PK Bhoi said.
The deceased was working in a local bakery unit and was living in the railway station area.
