Bargarh, March 1:
Unable to repay loans, a farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticides in Khuntapali village in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Subal Seth (27) was shifted to Bargarh district headquarters hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
Seth had been cultivating paddy in three acres of land of Prashant Pradhan of Pudhitikra on share since last three years. However, he incurred heavy loss due to crop damage since last two seasons.
As he was unable to repay the loan of Rs 50,000-60,000, he was in severe mental stress, the family members said.
The unmarried farmer was among the three sons of Rama Krushna Seth.
