Bhubaneswar: In a bad news for animal lovers, Kusum, a white tigress lodged at Nandankanan Zoological Park in Odisha capital, died of old age this morning, informed zoo authorities.
The tigress was 18-year-old when she took her last breath.
Her health condition had deteriorated for the last 11 days and she was seen remaining idle at the feeding chamber of the white tiger safari, reports said.
Worth mentioning, Kusum was born on December 28, 1999 as an offspring of tiger Ram and tigress Shreya.
Kusum gave birth to as many as six cubs during her lifetime.
With the death of Kusum, the number of white tigers in the zoo reduced to eight.
