Veggie Kart, an initiative by eKutir Rural Management Services Pvt Ltd and MGM Agri-ventures and a unique online vegetable distribution and purchase platform of Odisha, held its first customers meet programme in the city here on Monday.
The programme was attended by Ms Pallavi Sharda, an Indo-Australian actor and dancer as the chief guest, KC Mishra, founder director of Veggie Kart Marketing Pvt. Ltd, Bibhu Prusti and Pankaj Mohanty, social investor and co-founder, Veggie Kart.
The purpose of the event was to honour the valued online customers of Veggie Kart and set up a platform for addressing customer’s feedback and to share its plans for the recent future.
On the occasion, the company announced unique online vegetable buying system in Cuttack district from the third week of May.
In order to facilitate large segment of the customers and as a part of its expansion drive, Veggie Kart has come with unique online vegetable buying system where a customer can purchase or order vegetable online from any part of the city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack using his/her credit or debit card.
The company also informed that it has planned to start captive plantation along with 500 farmers all over the state initially.
Having around 350 daily customers, the company is presently trading around 5 tonnes of vegetables per day and plans to increase by 10-15 tonne in next six months.
It may be noted that the state Agriculture department in association with VeggieKart Marketing Pvt Ltd had launched VeggieKart distribution system and an online vegetable purchasing platform in Odisha in November 2013 to supply fresh vegetables to the people through an integrated communication technology based distribution retail chain.
