To mark its golden jubilee celebration, the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) is going to organise a five-day mega trade fair titled “Odisha Moves Forward” at the Unit-III Exhibition Ground in the city here beginning Saturday. Chairman of Aditya Birla group and industrialist Kumarmangalam Birla will grace the opening ceremony.
As per the schedule, a seminar on “Forest & Environment Clearances for sustainable mining” would be organised by the Mining & Geology Forest & Environment committee on February 23 while another seminar on “Export- As an Engine for Growth” would be organised by the International Trade Committee the next day.
The Agro & Food Processing Committee would organise a seminar on “Technology Implementation in Agriculture & Food Processing” on February 25 while a seminar on “From Exclusion to Inclusion, Promotion of Universal Accessibility” would be organised by the CSR & CD Committee on the last day of the trade fair.
The event would showcase the achievements of the Odisha government along with the business community as well as strategies to place the state as a leader amongst all the states.
Besides, an innovation and business idea competition would he held amongst management and engineering students of Odisha with cash prizes for three best judged business plans.
UCCI would help get funding for grounding of the business ideas of these young entrepreneurs.
The opening day of the trade fair would be graced by state Health and MSME minister Damodar Rout, chairman of Aditya Birla Group Kumar Mangalam Birla and chairman of Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra.
