Bhubaneswar, Jul 21:
Acting with admirable alacrity, Commissionerate Police arrested two persons for killing a youth of Unit-VIII area under Nayapalli police limits in the Odisha capital within hours of the incident today.
The accused – identified as Siba Nayak (32) of Odagaon area in Nayagarh district and another youth named Happy, a resident of the city – were arrested this morning for killing a youth named Manas in the wee hours today. Nayak is a driver by profession, police said.
Two others involved in the murder are absconding, sources in the police said,.
Twin city Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma said the accused killed Manas in a pre-planned way near CBI office in Unit-VIII area and threw the body in Rental Colony to destroy the evidence.
Preliminary investigation suggested that the murder was a fall-out of previous animosity, sources in the police said.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was sent to the Capital Hospital here for autopsy.
A team of Nayapalli police officials are interrogating the accused to find out the motive behind the murder.
