A hardcore woman cadre Maoist from Chhattisgarh was arrested in Odisha’s Bolangir district today.
The woman Maoist, identified as Nirmala, was intercepted and arrested while she was going to neighbouring state for treatment along with his accomplice Gautam Bag.
Soon afterNirmala was arrested, police raidedGautam’s house from where they seized a pistol and several Maoist-related articles.Goutam was put in the police barrack in Bolangir where he attempted suicide.
Goutam was kept in the barrack and he was in a depressed state. He attempted suicide after which he was rushed to hospital. He succumbed on his way to sub divisional hospital, Bolangir SP Deepak Kumar said.
First he was taken to Kantabanjhi hospital from where he was rushed to sub divisional hospital where he was declared brought dead, he said, adding that the Bag might have committed suicide fearing a threat to his life by the Maoists.
The SP also informed that Nirmala was involved in a series of serious crimes including murder and arson and was monitoring the movement of the Maoist outfit in Bolangir district.
