Sundargarh, Feb 1:
The Jharkhand police on Saturday arrested five Maoists including a top cadre from the Saranda forest area along the Odisha-Jharkhand border.
Acting on specific intelligence input, a joint team of Jharkhand and Sundargarh policelaunched a combing operation inside the Saranda forest and succeeded in arresting five Maoists including three women members and a top cadre, identified as Bikram of Podahata.
Police later seized 12 rifles, several live cartridges and explosives from their possession.
The arrested Maoists are being interrogated, sources said.
