Bhubaneswar: Regional Meteorological Centre today issued thunderstorm warning for nine districts across Odisha.
According to Bhubaneswar MeT, the thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind reaching a speed of 50 to 60 kmph is likely to occur in Dhenkanal, Angul, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh and Boudh till 1.30 pm.
Earlier in the morning, the thunderstorm warning was issued for 15 districts — Dhenkanal, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Sundergarh and Jharsuguda till 11.30 am.
Meanwhile, the nor’wester rain lashed Bhubaneswar and Cuttack triggering waterlogging and traffic jam in twin city.
The passengers at various railway stations in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack waited for hours as the trains are running late, few are cancelled and halted due to heavy rains, strong wind and lightning in the morning.
