Three Maoist militia arrested in Odisha’s Koraput

Lamtaput: Three militia members of Nandapur Division of outlawed CPI (Maoist) were arrested by the police in Odisha’s Koraput district today.

The three militia members identified as Biswanath Hantal, Sahadev Hantal, and Ghanu Sisa were arrested during combing operations in Hatibari area of the district, police sources said.

The arrested rebels who were allegedly involved in Maoist activities, basically organized meetings in tribal villages for the outlawed outfit, police sources added.

Notably, police had intensified combing operations in Hatibari area following the murder of the local sarpanch by the Maoists on August 8.
