The top brass of Odisha police on Tuesday dismissed speculations that the world famous Rath Yatra in Odisha’s holy city of Puri, scheduled to kick off on June 29, faced any terrorist threat.
Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra, who presided over a top level meeting on issues relating to security, law and order and traffic arrangements for the June 29 Rath Jatra, said there have been no specific intelligence inputs leading to any threat perception with regard to the great annual event.
A foolproof security system would be in place to ensure safety and peace during the RathYatra, special DGP Sanjeev Marik told media persons after the meeting.
