Bhubaneswar, May 11:
After three days of respite and moderate rainfall, temperature went up sharply at many places in Odisha where a rise of 5 to 6 degree was recorded today.
While Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature at 40.8 degree Celsius, temperature went up to 40 degree and above in Hirakud (40.4), Bolangir (40), Titlagarh (40.5) and Sonepur (40).
The local Met office in a release today said that the heat wave in the state would be intensified further in the next seven days with the weakening of the low pressure over Telangana in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
