Cuttack, Jul 1:
The High Court today served notices to the Odisha government and the chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to file their replies in the matter of suspension of two Daitapatis.
The next hearing in the matter will be conducted next week.
Suspended father-son Daitapati duo Kashinath Das Mohapatra and Jayakrushna Das Mohapatra had moved the High Court on June 29 challenging the SJTA’s decision suspending them for an indefinite period.
The SJTA had suspended the father-son duo on June 24 evening for the chaos inside the temple leading to an inordinate delay in the Brahma Parivartan ritual of the deities inside the Shree Jagannath temple in Puri on June 15.
The suspended father-son duo had reacted sharply to the SJTA decision the same day and had threatened to take the matter to the court.
