Bhadrak, Apr 29:

Section 144 of CrPC was today clamped in Dhamnagar of Odisha’s Bhadrak district as tension erupted over a fire outbreak in Dhamnagar Bazaar last night.

The prohibitory orders have been imposed in Dhamnagar Chhak, NAC area, Bhagbanpur, Palikiri and Dobala Bazaar for 24 hours from 10 am today, reports said.

Some unidentified miscreants had reportedly torched four houses located in Dhamnagar Bazaar last night which led to tension in the area this morning.

Five platoons of police forces have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident, police sources said.

Bhadrak SP, Collector and Dhamnagar MLA are present in the town to monitor the situation.

“It is a case of fire accident. Many rumours are generally spread during such incidents. We hope people will not pay attention towards such rumours,” said Gyana Ranjan Das, Bhadrak Collector.

A compensation of Rs 98,900 was provided by the district administration to one family whose house was completely damaged and Rs 3,200 to three families whose houses were partially damaged.
