Rs 48 lakh renovation plan for 7th Battalion pond makeover in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will renovate and beautify the large pond inside the OSAP  7th Battalion campus adding facilities for activities like jogging , swimming,  puja and rituals  etc. at a cost of Rs 48 lakhs in six months time.


The foundation stone was laid for the renovation work on Wednesday,by Housing and Urban Development minister Puspendra Singh Deo .

After the renovation of the pond , the periphery area will be stone packed . The pond will be drained, dried and will be dug deeper.

The periphery of the water body will be tiled and will be used as a jogging track. The pond  will be reconstructed into a swimming pool where the swimming tests will be conducted during the recruitment of the OSAP  .

Arrangements will also be made in the 7,200 sq ft water body for activities like puja and other rituals.

 BMC mayor Anant Narayan Jena, North Bhubaneswar MLA Priyadarshi Mishra and  corporator Sanjay Shetty among others were present during the occasion.
