After the ruling BJD’s sweeping victory in the twin elections in Odisha. the winners are flocking to Naveen Niwas, the residence of BJD supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik, to both thank and greet him for the party’s phenomenal success.
Labour minister Bijoyshree Routray was among the first ones to meet the chief minister at his residence today.
“We are surprised over the massive win. We had expected something around 110 seats in the assembly but we have got 117 which is certainly beyond our expectations”, said Routray.
On the Modi factor Routray said though we were confident of doing well, still we had a feeling Modi wave may affect our score in the Lok Sabha polls but the people of Odisha have reposed their overwhelming faith in our leader Naveen Patnaik and our party.
On being asked what would be the thrust areas of the party after such a sweeping victory, Routray said it was not something that he could say off the cuff. However, he said agriculture would be one area that the party will focus the most and development work to better the lives of the people by reducing poverty.
