Bhubaneswar, May 8:
The Commissionerate Police today arrested the marketing head of Ganapati Eskon Private Limited, an Odisha-based real estate company, Gyana Ranjan Das for duping a client in a land deal case.
The matter came to light after the victim Dhirendra Nath Mallick of Jagatsinghpur lodged a complaint with the Sahid Nagar police a few days back.
In his complaint report, Mallick had accused both the managing director and the office bearers of the company for duping him Rs 7 lakh towards land cost and Rs 60,000 towards its registration fee, after promising to provide a good piece of land at Rangamatia-Chakeisiani mouza located on the outskirts of the city.
The money transaction for land deal between the victim and the accused took place in 2012. Since then, the company officials had been giving false assurances to provide land. Mallick was forced to lodge a formal complaint with the Sahid Nagar police after running out of patience.
Police nabbed the marketing head of the company Gyana and forwarded him to the court today. Efforts are on to nab the company’s managing director Chinmaya Das who is still at large, police sources said.
