Cuttack, Feb 5:
The report of the gender sensitisation committee probing the allegation of sexual harassment against Parthasarathi Mishra, the dean of students’ welfare, Ravenshaw University, has not ruled out the possibility of the involvement of the latter in the incident.
Going by the sequence of events, the allegation against the dean might be true , said the committee report which was submitted to the university Vice Chancellor Baishnab Charan Tripathy on Wednesday.
Talking to OST, Tripathy said the dean would be relieved of his duty while the victim would be advised to file a proper complaint with the police in this regard.
It may be mentioned that a final year Computer Science student of the university had brought allegations of sexual harassment against Mishra, a senior OAS officer posted in the university on deputation.
Acting on the girl student’s complaint , the vice chancellor had asked the Committee to probe the allegation and submit a report.
The committee on Tuesday had interrogated Mishra and recorded his statements. It had also recorded the statement of the ‘victim’ on Monday.
Ravenshaw University vice chancellor Tripathy told media persons that the accused would be placed under suspension and handed over to the police if found guilty.
