Jaipur, Feb 5:
The Rajasthan government on Tuesday suspended senior Odia IAS officer BB Mohanty on charges of sexual exploitation of a 22-year-old woman, official sources said here today.
The suspension order was issued by chief minister Vasundhara Raje after receiving a detailed case report from the police.
An additional chief secretary (ACS) rank officer, Mohanty was chairman, Rajasthan Civil Services Appellate Tribunal.
Both Mohanty and his wife had rubbished the allegations earlier. However, the police report suggests there is prima facie evidence that goes against the senior official, sources said.
The victim, who recorded her statement before a local magistrate on Tuesday, said that Mohanty, on the promise of helping her clear the IAS examination, raped her on February 19, 2013 at his flat at New Sanganer Road that has been sealed by the police.
Earlier, the police had searched the flat and residence of Moyanty at Vaishali Nagar.
Besides, the investigating team has also collected the call details and records of hotels where Mohanty had stayed with the woman.
